Common Equipment Terms#
Price#
The standard price for a new piece of equipment.
All prices are currently removed.
Weight#
The total weight of an item. (If an item is considered a bulky item, it will have the bulky tag.)
Object DEF#
An item’s own structural resistance, used when the item is targeted directly — such as with the Shatter action — or otherwise takes direct damage. See Damaged & Broken Gear for how Object DEF and VIT work.
Armor normally degrades through a separate process tied to the wearer’s wounds rather than direct damage — see Breaking Defensive Items. Its listed Object DEF is a fallback for edge cases where armor is attacked directly while unworn or otherwise not protecting a wearer.
DEF Bonus#
Added to the wearer’s DEF score while equipped.
Range#
The number displayed is a weapon’s normal range. The normal range indicates the max distance at which a ranged weapon can be used without causing disadvantage. A weapon’s maximum effective range is double its normal range. When making an attack beyond the normal range but below max range, the attack is made at a disadvantage. Some weapons and upgrades have a minimum range. These are written in parenthesis before the normal range, such as (20)100. In these cases, attacks made at or below the minimum range also put the user at a disadvantage.
Tags#
Many pieces of equipment have tags to quickly identify common features and use requirements. These tags will be described at the end of each item list. The tag “Special” is used when that piece of equipment has details out of the ordinary. You can find a complete list of item tags here.
